On 17th January 2026, 23 participants representing various non-governmental organisations, ECOUNITY Erasmus+ project partners, Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Mellis Educational Technologies, and the Çanakkale Municipality came together to discuss the importance of collaboration among local actors and the university for sustainable green development at the local and regional levels.
At the event, Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University project team members Assoc Prof Dr Erdal Eroğlu, Assoc Prof Dr Didem Saygın, Dr Tuğçe Yıldız Üzelgün, Dr Kendal Deniz and Elif Anda from Mellis Educational Technologies gave keynote speeches on sustainable green development, green transformation at the university, interactions of the university with the local actors and the ECOUNITY project results developed as a result of a series of project activities, including workshops, survey applications, content development, literature reviews, focus groups and piloting. The project results HED curriculum for Sustainable Green Development, ECOUNITY E-learning platform, including animation videos, expert videos, quizzes, module-based articles, and discussion rooms, Handbook and Action Plan, and Reports, including the data from the data collection processes.
At the meeting, the president of the Green Transformation Coordinatorship, Dr Dilvin İpek gave a speech and explained the Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University initiatives for sustainable green development.
In the question-and-answer session, participants shared their opinions and emphasised the quality of the interactions over their quantity. Especially, university students’ activation related to the social entrepreneurship activities, social responsibility of business corporations, and environmental protection were discussed in detail.
