The TEMA Foundation Field Coordination Meeting, held under the theme “TEMA Foundation Turns 30,” commenced in Istanbul with the participation of nearly 400 individuals, including Provincial Representatives, District/Neighborhood Officers, Young TEMA Leaders, and members of the TEMA Foundation’s Board of Directors from 64 provinces.
The event, which began with a tribute to the late Honorary Founders Hayrettin Karaca and Ali Nihat Gökyiğit, also featured a special appearance by singer Buray, a long-time volunteer and supporter of TEMA Foundation’s environmental efforts. In his speech, Buray emphasized the role of artists in raising social awareness, stating that while scientific reports inform, it is art that touches hearts. He expressed his belief in the power of volunteerism and the need to continue nurturing hope and greenery for future generations. As a token of appreciation for his dedication, Buray was presented with a plaque by TEMA Foundation’s Chairman Deniz Ataç and General Manager Başak Yalvaç Özçağdaş.
During the meeting, TEMA Çanakkale Provincial Representative Sümeyra Güleryüz introduced the GREENCODE project and its objectives, focusing on environmental protection and sustainable practices. The project was presented both during the fair activities and through conference speeches, highlighting its relevance in early education and the integration of eco-friendly practices with educational robotics. The GREENCODE project aims to inspire and educate current and future teachers about the importance of environmental awareness and innovative learning methods, resonating strongly with the TEMA Foundation’s mission of fostering a greener and more sustainable future.
